Broad promotion movement within ANP ranks ahead of Algeria’s Independence Day celebrations

The National Defense Ministry has initiated a broad promotion movement including the Commands of the air, ground and naval forces, as well as those of the National gendarmerie, in addition to the air defense forces of the territory and the Republican Guard, and all other military directorate units in various parts of the national territory.

These new promotions will be announced officially early next week and are meant to coincide with the upcoming celebration of Algeria’s independence Day on July 5^th 2015.

The upgrading promotions concerned various grades and involved all military commands.

Informed sources revealed to “Echorouk” that the high command of the National Gendarmerie is in the process of finalizing the transfer map resulting from these sweeping promotions, adding that this large-scale movement coincided with the completion of the graduation ceremony of each military school in the four corners of the country.

The same sources also indicated that among these promotions, the National Gendarmerie high command also received the go-ahead for the upgrading to higher level for 3 colonels who have been promoted to the rank of Generals in addition to other senior officers whose rank has been hiked to colonels as part of this large rank-betterment movement.
