Algeria’s most expensive ever car exhibition for 18 years will be organized starting from Wednesday. Prices increased compared to last year by 30 percent. This would cause a sharp fall in sales, according to car dealers.

Chairman of car dealers’ association Mourad Olmi Tuesday said cars price increase is due to the 22 percent dollar value rise. This raised cars importing bill.

Speaking about expected discounts, he told journalists they will depend on each car dealer.

He added that the exhibition slogan will be “professionalism in marketing.”

Car dealers started advertising about their discounts days before the exhibition starts. They announced discounts of 30 and 50 million centimes. Yet, they touch luxury cars.

Chairman of the association for consumers’ protection Mustapha Zebdi said 450 breaches were reported during last year’ cars exhibition related to delivery dates and industrial errors in cars.

He added that 80 percent of the problems were solved in collaboration with car dealers.
