Compensation reaches up to 600 Euros for Air Algérie delayed flight victims

It is under the new aviation law, that was recently issued in the Official Gazette, and despite the fact that a copy of the new law did not specify the compensation’s size. However, the International Civil Aviation Organization specified it for the flights which distance ranges between 1,500 and 3,500 km, and those are the rules that the companies that are operating in Algeria will be obliged to apply.

According to information that was obtained by Echorouk, the flight of 1500 km or less will be compensated by 250 Euros, and trips between 1500 and 3000 km will be compensated by 400 Euros, while the flights that exceed 3,500 km will be compensated by up to 600 Euros, which are large amounts that airlines which are operating in Algeria would be obliged to pay to the customer including the two national companies Air Algerie and Tassili Airlines.

According to the same sources, the cancellations that are concerned with compensation are those that exceed one hour, while any delay or cancellation out of the company’s scope is out of the company’s responsibility along the lines with the flights’ cancellation or delay for security or political reasons, as in the case of flight cancellation and informing the customer 15 days before the official date, as the latter will not benefit from any financial compensation.

According to the same source, it is considered as a delay for the company, and every flight postponement that exceeds two hours for flights that do not exceed 1,500 km, and 3 hours for flights of less than 3500 km, and 4 hours for flights that exceed it, and if the size of the delay exceeded 5 hours, the traveler can take advantage of the compensation of the ticket’s cost by 100%, and travel freely on the company’s account.
