Algerian authorities expressed their displeasure with the French authorities of the use of the word “Algerian origins”, when it comes to a terrorist attack, a resentment which France adopted positively and this reflected on its official discourse in the recent terror attacks, Diplomatic sources said.

“An open line links Paris with Algeria since the Paris terror attacks, and the almost daily contacts are made between the Foreign Affairs’ Ministers of the two countries.”

Responsible sources from the Foreign Ministry, said that the French official discourse that followed the Paris terror attacks at all levels, revealed the positive dealing with the official correspondence that was addressed by the Algerian authorities to its French counterpart, regarding the use of Algerian origins, when it comes to one of the immigrants who are involved in a terrorist act.

“The resentment message came within the explicit rejection of the official Algerian authorities to receive the corpses of the two brothers Kouachi, the perpetrators of the massacre at the Charlie Hebdo magazine headquarters.”

“French authorities asked Algeria the handing over of the corpses of Kouachi brothers accidentally in order to bury them in Algeria, as it already made the same proposition for the burial of Mohamed Merah, who is accused in Toulouse and Montauban attacks that targeted French soldiers and Jewish kids Southern France, an offer which was rejected by Algeria in sentence and details, and in an official capacity, then it was accompanied with clarifications regarding the classification and the use of the Algerian origins, when it comes to terrorists”.

“Algeria was one of the first victims of terrorism and extremism, and it suffered alone without any support, when the international community was not aware of the threat of terrorism as an intercontinental phenomenon.”

“Algeria warned of the danger of implicit accusations, and put the point on the letters regarding the use of the Algerian origins, believing that each holder of French nationality and who was born in France and studied in its schools and learned within its curricula, grew up in its streets, never visited Algeria, and never contacted its consulate is a French citizen, regardless of the origins”.

“Algerian state is committed with its citizens and community wherever they are, but it washes its hands of any responsibility towards the other nationalities, whether they are European or Asian or even Arab, so it is considered such accusations as indirect, and described the French authorities’ official and recent statements as positive, for example, the French President Francois Hollande described the perpetrators of Paris terror attacks as French who killed the French, and the same approach was used by the Prime, Interior and Foreign Ministers, as the French authorities avoided for the first time going into the origins of the terrorist group that implemented Paris attacks.”

“An almost daily phone call and direct line is made between Algeria and Paris since the recent attacks, and coordination continues without interruption between the joint bilateral committees, and in the heart of this coordination we find condemnation and a warning of the growing hostilities against Muslims, because Islamophobia incites terrorism and extremism that has nothing to do with religion.”

“Algeria will be present on November 30, and with a large delegation that’ll be led by the Prime Minister, Abdelmalek Sellal, led to participate in the proceedings of the meeting on climate, under the United Nations’ auspices. Algeria will be present in Paris because it played a diplomatic role in the task of preparing for the event.”
