The members of the mobile police force in Beni Bousseid in Tlemcen (western Algeria), on Saturday night to Sunday, arrested close to the western border of the country, a 35-year-old man who was seeking to smuggle a wanted runaway towards the neighboring Kingdom of Morocco to avoid falling into the hands of security elements and to be brought before Algerian justice.
The operation took place according to Echorouk’s sources at around 1 am at night, after the members of the police division received information about the existence of a criminal network that evades human beings by providing assistance to those sought by justice through smuggling them into the neighboring country of Morocco.
Accordingly, the police set up a string of ambushes in the border area, which enabled them to arrest the driver of a Renault 19 vehicle at the axis of rotation near the postal center in Beni Bousseid, who was accompanied by a 27-year-old, called M.Z, in addition to 23-year –old youngster, called Y.A. while inspecting the vehicle.
The first young man was found to have in his possession an amount of 168,000 Algerian dinars, while the second suspect had on him 16 thousand dinars, 1,900 dollars and 220 Moroccan dirhams.
After preliminary security investigations, it turned out that the first defendant is the subject of an arrest warrant issued by the Judge of the Misdemeanor Court of In Amenas, for a charge related to smuggling, while the second one, who is now in custody, is wanted by justice on charges related to debauchery and loose morals.
