Dr. Loth Bounatiro: “May, 27 To Be First Day Of Ramadan”

Holy month of Ramadan for this year and the astronomical month, ie, the conjunction of the sun with the moon, will be on Thursday,May 25 at 8:44 pm Algeria time, and Ramadan can not be seen at night, Dr. Loth Bounatiro, an expert in astronomy and geology, told Echorouk, on Saturday.

“Pairing comes two days before Ramadan, because most Arab and Muslim countries could not monitor the moon in the dark after sunset”.
“On Friday, May 26 which is the 29th of Sha’ban, there will be the beginning of fasting in Algeria and in all countries, according to the astronomical theory. This phenomenon cannot be avoided astronomically. It will be necessary to unite the day of fasting across the Muslim world”.
“Revival of the Sunnah calls on Muslims in Algeria and elsewhere to verify the validity of the astronomical account on May 26, although the pairing preceded the 25th of the same month. The civil month must be monitored by the committees in a normal way, as a respect for the Messenger of Allah, and more than the astronomical account”.
“In the past years the conjunction between the sun and the moon came before sunset and in day, which created a difference between the Islamic countries, on the day of fasting, due to not seeing the crescent clearly”.
Regarding the meteorological situation of Ramadan 2017, Dr. Bonatiro said that the month of fasting will see a pleasant atmosphere with thermal leaps from time to time that last only one or two days, and temperatures will be less than last year. It is outside the two known periods, which are the small desolation on July 23, and the great desolation of August 24 until its end.
