Citizens will pay the price of using the East-West highway by the end of 2015 and beginning of 2016, Public Works Minister, Abdelkader Kadi, said.
“East-West highway will not remain for free by the end of 2015. Japanese COJAAL does not have the right to resort to international justice, according to terms of the agreement that was signed with Algeria.”
Kadi asserted, on Tuesday while attending as a guest on the third radio channel program “Editorial Guest”, about the claim of COJAAL Japanese company to receive compensation of $902 m and resorting to international justice; “COJAAL is not entitled, according to the agreement term to ask for international justice. If we had to go to justice in the case, it will be Algerian and according to the Algerian justice. Algeria is ready to solve the problem with COJAAL company with respect to “Djebel Louahche” project, especially if the Japanese ambassador in Algeria intervened to resolve the dispute, but if they want to go to the court, we are ready to defend our project.
