Echorouk and British Council launch English language competition

Echorouk Al Yaoumi competition to learn English will start Friday in coordination with the British Council in Algeria. The newspaper will publish a series of weekly articles in English from July 24th to August 20th 2015.

This competition is meant to make Echorouk a mediator between Algerians and English language as it is the most read newspaper in the country.

Readers can check the articles on Echorouk newspaper or on its website. Two questions for each article will be asked. Participants will have to read the articles then answer the questions on www.echoroukonline.com, the British Council’s website or Facebook page.

English language projects coordinator at the British Council Abderrahim Ait Bara said the prizes will be granted to five winners as one the name of one winner will be announce every week. Four of them will get a TV while the fifth winner will obtain one-week-trip to the UK.

The prizes will be awarded in September in a ceremony at the UK Ambassador’s Residence in Algiers in presence of prominent personalities.
