Education: Five magic solutions that break the thorn of Benghabrit and stop the strike

CNAPEST freezes its open strike, after the intervention of the Prime Minister, Abdelmalek Sellal, who dismantled the dispute after 5 weeks of the strike, by solutions that were described a magic, then Education Ministry announced on responding to teachers demands.

CNAPEST Syndicate grasped 135.000 positions to upgrade teachers, a process that will be embodied over three years, at a rate of 45.000 position upgrade in a year, as it was agreed to upgrade teachers who were described as continuing towards the demise in the basic and developed levels, before next December,12.

National Secretary in charge of Information and Communication at the National Council of independent users of the teaching sector, in the three-phase Educational Sector, Messaoud Buodiba, told Echorouk that the decision to freeze the open strike, came after an agreement that was reached with the Education Ministry, about the demands that were raised during the meeting which gathered both sides last Thursday at the ministry.

“Syndicate, after a five week strike, grasped 135.000 positions to upgrade teachers, as the process will continue until June,2, 2017, at a rate of upgrading 45.000 teachers annually, according to the terms, I.e. upgrading 50% of teachers by organizing a contest and 50% for through registration in the lists of rehabilitation.”

On the other hand, the ministry decided to lift the freeze on converting the vacant positions, to the ranks of key teachers and trainer, that were previously scheduled.

“Ministry and during the meeting, which was chaired by the Inspector General of the Department, Nadjadi Moksem, agreed to upgrade teachers who did not practice their formation through organizing an exceptional training session for their benefit through 2015, will be promoted in the basal grades and updated ranks, according to the conditions and legal modalities before December,31, with the automatic conversion of their financial positions.”

He explained, concerning the file of elementary school teachers and teachers of basic education, who have completed their training after June, 3, 2012, that the ministry has agreed to open the door in front of them, during the current year to upgrade them in the rank of  teacher trainer by combining seniority that is gained in the original grade and seniority in the new rank with automatic conversion to the financial positions.
