Education: Over 9.000 new teachers refuse to join their posts

Initial situation of teaching at the national level, revealed, 3 days after the school-year start, on a terrible lack of teachers in the pedagogical posts, because of lack of enrollment of new teachers to their posts, including successful in reserve lists, so that their number reached 9.000 at the national level .

While the DOEs in provinces collided with another problem, which is how to compensate those professors who did not join their posts, on the grounds that the process takes a whole month, because of the general employment law.

Informed sources told Echorouk, that the primary education directorate, asked, on Sunday, the education managers in provinces of the needs to set the situation of the school-year start, on a daily basis and sent it to the ministry, until the end of September, to deal with the exposed problems, and try to find solutions in the right time, confirming in the same context that the initial assessment that was carried out by the departments of Education, three days after the school-year start, showed the large lack in teachers, especially in the subject of Natural Sciences in the middle and secondary phases.

In the same context, National Secretary in charge of Organization at the National Syndicate of Education Workers, Kouider Yahiaoui, told Echorouk, that the problem of vacancy in the pedagogical posts, was discussed in this school year, due to the “female” successful teachers who refused to join their posts, on the grounds that their percentage reached 90% nationally. Syndicate’s report showed that 50% of the new teachers did not join their classrooms, which is the equivalent to 9.000 teachers nationally, out of 19.000 successful.
