Independent Syndicates of Education agree that the “threshold” will impose itself again in the Baccalaureate 2015, because of several disturbing situation, mainly those related to the refusal of pupils in southern cities to join their classrooms since 15 days ago, after pupils of the rest of provinces joined boycotting the study, demanding to identify the threshold.

National Secretary in charge of Organization at the National Union of Education Workers, Kouidri Yahyaoui, told Echorouk, that the “SNTE” wishes there should be no pressures by government to back down from the decision to cancel the threshold, because it has become a “bad habit” that spread terribly amid pupils of final sections since 2008, during the era of former Education Minister, Abou Bakr Ben Bouzid.
“There are no more justifications to claim because pupils and their parents usually justify with the teachers’ strikes. If the Minister relented to the students’ demand and recognized the threshold, then it will politicize the school.”
National Secretary in charge of Communication and Information at the National Union of Education and Training Workers, Messaoud Amraoui, asserted that “UNPEF” insists on the decision to cancel the threshold officially.
“Pupils’ protests is the inevitable result of the promises which have been made by the Education Ministry previously, as she accustomed the Baccalaureate pupils on the threshold. I think there is no justification for the pupils’ protests to ask for the threshold because there were not protests in the past.”
