Independent education unions in Algeria said that the repeated “farce” concerning the leaking of test questions and posting them on “Facebook” of the intermediate certificate examination BEM, confirms that those involved aren’t actually neither teachers, candidates and nor heads of exam centers, but rather “protected” shadowy parties, not afraid of punishment.

It should be noted that this renewed exam scandal is classified under “organized cyber-crime”, prompting the Government notably the relevant ministerial department to intervene to uncover those involved.

Independent Unionist Messaoud Boudiba told in this connection “Echorouk” that the parties behind the leaking of topics on “Facebook” on the first day of the intermediate certificate examination or BEM were the same blameworthy persons who participated in the leaking of the tests on the Internet during the recently-held 2015 session of the Baccalaureate exam.

He added that with these nefarious cheating practices, the Baccalaureate and BEM exams had practically lost their importance and their credibility by penalizing in a way the honest and law-abiding candidates who shunned any form of cheating during these two crucial end-of-year examinations.

The department of national education minister Nouria Benghabrit has been held accountable for these exam-related scandalous drifts by several independent education unions.

“The Ministry of Education should have taken stringent means to stamp out all forms of cheating. Mobile teams equipped with metal detectors to supervise the examination centers and monitor candidates should have been deployed”, they argued.
