Eight Barons Import Crackers to Gain 80 billion ZDZ

Algiers Security Services seized a considerable quantity of crackers of various kinds, which are estimated at 350 tray boxes that contain more than 200,000 crackers worth 6 billion centimes, in the last hours.

In a quality operation the Customs services identified 8 barons who are importing millions of dangerous crackers under the cover of commercial records for other products, with a total value of 800 billion centimes per year, as their files were transferred to justice.

Same operation by Algiers security services, according to Echorouk sources, came within the field procedures that are relating to the fight against crackers trafficking, especially in the popular neighborhoods, like the Casbah, Bab El Oued, Belouizdad, El Harrach and other neighborhoods, as it seized 350 packs that contain more than 200.000 crackers worth 6 billion centimes, as most of them are explosives of the type “Daesh”.

The operation is continuing on the eve of the Prophet Mohamad’s birth, which noticed the revival of this illegal trade.

In a related development, official sources from the General-Directorate of Customs told Echorouk on Monday, that their services transferred the files of 8 barons who import millions of dangerous crackers, under the guise of commercial records for other products, like food and spare parts, asserting that these importers are flooding the Algerian market with crackers across camouflaged containers of legal goods, and they are making profits that exceed 800 billion centimes per year, and they share them through the distribution to more than 15,000 youth, to be sold through more than 25,000 points of sale at the level of all the neighborhoods of Algeria, during the days of Prophet Mohamad’s birth each year.

In terms of figures, customs’ services foiled, since the beginning of the year, the attempt to flood the market with four containers of the size 40-feet, which are packed with crackers and fireworks, to explode them during the night of the Prophet’s birthday, at the value of 800 billion centimes.
