The Minister of labour, employment and social security, Mohamed El Ghazi, has tackled the vexed issue of the much-requested renewal of vocational integration contracts in the public employment sectors, institutions and administrative bodies, stressing that the latter is undergoing considerable saturation.

The Minister said that the number of those associated to vocational training sector integration exceeds one million young men and women, who are now demanding permanent recruitment in their respective lines of work.

In this context, Mr Mohamed El Ghazi affirmed that this is unreasonable since the number of available work positions for the moment is insufficient, adding that a specific program should be worked out to absorb gradually this enormous labour force in accordance with the requirements and needs of employers of public bodies and institutions, by giving priority notably to the duration in employment service, professional experience, etc for each applicant’s file.

The labour, employment and social security Minister said in a statement to “Echorouk” after winding up a working visit to Skikda province in eastern Algeria, that the vocational training integration program, is still limited in some proportion within public administrative sectors in several parts of the country, stressing that the latter are showing clear willingness to take advantage of the know-how and skills of these hopeful young people through progressive recruitment.

The Minister further underlined that Algeria is not a “dairy cow” that everybody wants to “suckle” at will without being fully at the service of the country’s ambitious youth, stressing that “you have to roll up your sleeves”, adding that the “social welfare” era has now ended.
