Expatriates with foreign passports to be barred from visiting Algeria without a visa
Algerian expatriates abroad and who have foreign passports will be barred from visiting homeland, as from January,1, 2016, if they will not obtain a visa to enter the Algerian territory, as the work with the prior facilities, when expatriates provided only the identity card with foreign passports without a visa for their entry will be finished.
According to the publication of the Algerian Consulate in Saint Etienne, the Algerian consulate authorities have notified the various nationals about the fact that access to the national territory, with effect from 1 January, will only be through providing the biometric passport one hand, and explained that, for holders of the foreign passports, their entry is linked with having a visa to enter to Algeria.
The consulate’s asserted that as of January, 1, 2016, the facilities that were previously offered for Algerian nationals to enter homeland, will also terminate, and because the holders of foreign passports were allowed to visit Algeria without a visa and this through providing an Algerian national identity card, but this would not be possible as of early next year.
