Finance Minister, Mohamed Djellab: “We'll not go down headscarves' ban in Customs Services”

Regular suit of Customs Services, whether it come to field suits or work suits, is strictly framed according to special legislative and regulatory texts, particularly in the Decree No. 81-275 of October 17, 1981, and which included the establishment of a joint permanent ministerial committee for approval on suits and characteristics for the non-military members of the National People’s Army and who are bound to wear the suit, a decree that was replaced by Presidential Decree No. 11 248 of July 10, 2011 about the same subject, Finance Minister, Mohamed Djellab, said.
He pointed out in a written response to a question by a MP from Karama party, Mohamed Addaoui, which copy is available to Echorouk, that the ban on headscarves in customs services because it is incompatible with the constitution, in a related article which said “Islam is the religion of the state”.
“Commission that was created is composed of representatives of several ministerial sectors and representatives from the Ministry of National Defense are the structures which decide about the ratification on suits, on the basis of various documents, labels, symbols, distinctive cards and technical models on real metrics.”
“In this context, and after the study on the level of the committee on the suits for the staff of the General Directorate of Customs, on August 27, 2008, includes the preparation of the decision to ratify the statutory allowances and their accessories, which was published in the Official Gazette on October 2, 2008, but this decision was amended under the same conditions on December 8, 2011.”
“On this basis and pursuant to the provisions of Article 39 of the Customs Act, in 2008, a decision was signed to determine the formation of the regular Suit for customs services and the conditions of wearing it, showing precisely the various suits that should be worn by customs, when performing their professional duties, and which also included both of the special basic law and the internal rules and penalties that are incurred from certain irregularities in wearing the suit. Other officers who are belonging to the wire-like are not interested at all with the regular suit because they exercise their functions with the civilian cloths.”
