Five businessmen store medicines and cause scarcity crisis

Five businessmen are involved in medicines scarcity in national market, according to a report released by the ministry of health, Echorouk has learnt.

Minister Abdelmalek Boudiaf Tuesday received a report made by an investigation commission. It says 5 businessmen store anti-allergy medicines to cause scarcity and raise noise among people.

The report shows that a medicines mafia is behind the scarcity of 200 medicines intended for daily use.   

Algeria has more than 50 medicines manufacturing plants.

Boudiaf gave an instruction to hospitals to determine send reports to the Hospital Central Pharmacy two months before medicines are used up.

The ministry said it will take punishment measures including dismissal if medicines scarcity is not declared.
