FLN’s leader: Sellal is welcomed and Belkhadem will not come back
Secretary General of Algeria’s National Liberation Front (FLN) Amar Saidani did not want to talk about government personalities who are believed to be new members in the party. He said neither him nor is party is not interested in what is happening at the RND party.
Asked about the adherence of “technocrat” such as Algeria’s Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal, Saidani said he welcomes anyone who wants to join the party.
He avoided talking about the crisis experienced by the RND party due to a conflict between its Secretary General and its National Council.
“What is happening at the party is an internal issue and the FLN is not concerned,” he told journalists.
“We are asking for a political cabinet so that we can assess its performance. People do not vote for persons but on the basis of parties’ program,” he added.
He also said he presented a proposal in that regard to include it in the Constitution which is in the process of revision.
“Yet, this request does not mean we are against technocrat in cabinet,” he added.
Saidani seized the opportunity to open fire on his predecessor Abdelaziz Belkhadem without mentioning his name, saying it is impossible that he holds the position of the FLN’s Secretary General.
“Have you ever heard that former Secretaries General came back?” he added.
