France Allocates 17 Million Euros For Harkis In 2017!

French government allocated a budget of 17.5 million euros (about 200 billion centimes) for Harkis and the traitors of the Algerian revolution, as the compensation and grants ill be allocated to them for 2017.

In a response to a correspondence to the French State Department of Defense in charge of Veterans and Memory, that is dated in the end of February 2017, the French Senator, Brigitte Micouleau, for republicans, said that 17.5 million euros were allocated for this file in the 2017 budget attests, which reflects the determination of the French authorities to maintain the quality of services and the recognition of what they did during the Algerian war (the liberation revolution) and their courage and commitment.

“As of January 1, 2017, the amount of the Harkis grant increased to 2422 Euros and 3515 Euros, according to the scale that was chosen by the beneficiary during the filing of the beneficiary file”.

“Government continued its policy to facilitate the integration of the sons of Harkis in the French public sector, in order to raise significantly the possibility of employment in public sectors, as the registration period in the lists of regional and national acceptance, was extended from 3 years for priority beneficiaries to 5 full years”.

According to the same document, the traitors of the liberation revolution benefited from the purchase of retirement years, in order to benefit later from the full benefits of retirement, as they benefited from the aid of 60% of the value of each contribution during the trimester, and it ranges from 2000 to 8000 euros per trimester.

The response to the question of the inclusion of the Harki file and what they had done in Algeria and their history in the various French educational and cultural curricula was carried out under instructions from the French Prime Minister, while 6,000 Harkis benefited from French recognition once the law of February,23, 2005 was promulgated.

French Ministry of Defense estimated, in September 2015, the government expenditure on Harkis and members of the administrative offices of “SAS” in addition to the pieds_noirs who fled from Algeria under the name of “deportees from Algeria” by about 40 billion euros, which is more than  DZD 40 billion billion centimes, since independence to today, which is the subject that was referred to by “Echorouk” at the time.
