French Consulate Warns Algerians Against The “Sale” Of Schengen Visas

The French Consulate in Algeria, started Sunday, a new overhauling check of the “Visa Schengen” files, for more protection, after Algerians warned the day before against what they described as fraudsters, who offer fake services, related to French visas in exchange for hefty payment procedures, through electronic sites.
In a swift reaction, the French Consul General in Algeria, Mr. Marc Sédille, thus urged all Algerians wishing to apply for visas to enter French territory, not to fall into the trap of what he dubbed as swindlers who offer sham services specifically related to book appointments for a visa in exchange for money, and this is done through advertising that they spread across some online sites in the shape of commercials.

The French Consulate posted as a result a link to one of the ads on Facebook, enclosing it with the following comment: “Beware of the fraudulent swindlers who covertly want to steal and hurt you.”

A fair number of owners of fake travel agencies offer privileges and advertisements for the sale of a Schengen visa secured through websites at enticing prices ranging from 10 to 20 million centimes (DA).

On this basis, the Services of the French Consulate in Algiers, repudiated all the fraudulent ads posted on these shadowy websites and this prompted Consul General Marc Sédille to instruct the relevant Consular services to tighten procedures and be careful of fraud networks which maliciously target hundreds of Schengen visa-seeking Algerians.
