The Minister of housing, town planning and the city, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, he said that his ministerial department has reached agreement with French partners on the transfer of French know-how and expertise to their Algerian counterparts in the field of the modernization of construction in the Algerian market which is now witnessing a robust revival.

Mr Tebboune said in a statement to “Echorouk” that it was also agreed to bring French industry experts to oversee the management of new Algerian cities by the year 2015.

He added to this effect that French entrepreneurs had expressed their willingness to invest in the buoyant Algerian housing market which offers enticing incentives for both national and foreign investors, as he put it.

In a related file, a national advisory body for guidance designed to pave the way for the implementation of the new building industrialization policy, bringing together experts and industry executives, will be created any time soon, also said Abdelmajid Tebboune.

“In order to exploit all the national skills of our senior executives, despite the age of some of them, we decided to suggest to the Premiership the setting up of an advisory body to modernize the housing sector and help us industrialize construction in Algeria in line with international norms,” the minister explained.

The minister said such an advisory body to be set up shortly would be made up of seasoned university experts and executives with reliable expertise in the field of construction.

Mr Tebboune further pointed out this new body would have a consultative role as it will expound its views on the choice of a process or a project assessment as part of the industrialization of construction.
