French FM Urges Its Citizens To Be Careful Of Cholera In Algeria

French Foreign Ministry asked its nationals who are living in Algeria or traveling to it to be vigilant and beware of the cholera epidemic, which has spread in many provinces of the country.

“Many cases of cholera were diagnosed in the north and center of the country (Bouira, Blida, Tipaza, Algiers, Medea and Ain Defla)”, a statement that was issued by the French Foreign Ministry said on Sunday.

Algerian Health and Population Ministry asserted that a water source in the Tipaza region is the cause of pollution, but the drinking water will remain safe.

It called on its citizens to pay attention to hygiene and safety rules, and the WHO recommendations to avoid infection.
