A text that was published at the French Republic’s Official Gazette raised controversy over “Allowing the French soldiers to be present on the Algerian territory along with a number of African countries, especially the Sahel region”, and this through a decree that allows them to benefit from the protection against risks, disability and death, amid the absence of any official explanation by the official authorities , at a time when some of the parties promote news about “A correction that will be issued later” from the French side, on the basis that it is only a “typographical error”.

Text of the French Official Gazette in its publication of October 1, of the number 0227 in the text No. 22, on the French Ministry of Defense, and that was signed by the French Defense Minister, John Yves Le Drian, which was published in many news websites, shows that the decree of September 25, 2015 allows the soldiers who are involved in foreign operations on the territories of each of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, the Republic of Senegal, the Republic of Mali and the Republic of Algeria, and people of their rights, to be protected from risks, damage, disability and death, especially participants in the “Volcano” operation, which extends from October 1, 2014 until September 30, 2016, and for those who are working in Mauritania, Senegal, Mali, Algeria, Cote d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Niger, Libya, Chad, Nigeria, Cameroon and the Central African Republic.

Echorouk tried several times to contact the official spokesman of the Foreign Affairs’ Ministry, in order to inquire more and get a confirmation or denial or clarification on the matter, but to no avail.
