Gaïd Salah: “We should face up to the dangers threatening the country”

Lieutenant General Ahmed Gaid Salah, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army (ANP) and Deputy Minister of National Defense, urged from Bechar all the ANP troops to keep up their efforts and to arm themselves with more vigilance and constant readiness to thwart any attempt designed to threaten the security and stability of Algeria.

During a working visit of inspection to the 3rd Military Region in south-western Bechar province, General Gaid Salah inquired about the continuous availability of the ANP units through  their steadfast commitment to defending the integrity of the national territory and duly protecting national sovereignty.

The visit of the Chief of Staff of the ANP, which started as from Monday, allowed him to see for himself “the level of availability of Army units through the setting up of land defense systems and the deployment of forces across the 3rd Military Region”, a National Defense Ministry statement said.

The visit came according to the statement of which “Echorouk” received a copy, as part of the “monitoring of the implementation of the forces in combat readiness program for the year 2015-2016 and translates the interest granted by the High Command of the ANP in the component of awareness and orientation and also aims to support the direct and permanent contact with the various staffs.»

After the welcoming ceremony, Lieutenant General Ahmed Gaid Salah attended a presentation by Major General Said Chengriha, commander of the 3rd Military Region, on the general situation prevailing in the whole region and the continuous availability of  the military personnel to fulfill efficiently their bounden missions.

Furthermore, General Gaid Salah inspected a number of units under the Operational Sector of South Tindouf and inquired about the status of equipment, the means available and the evolution in the training of staff and their living conditions, the source added.

It should be noted that the Chief of Staff of the ANP had direct meetings with managers and staff of units on the spot, where he provided guidance and instructions for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions so as to allow the ANP elements to upgrade their performance in safeguarding national security and the country’s sovereignty.
