General Gaid Salah Calls For ANP Army To Be Steered Away From Political And Partisan Issues

The Vice Minister of National Defense, Chief of Staff of the National People’s Army (ANP), General Ahmed Gaid Salah, reiterated on Thursday the imperious need to drive away the Popular National People’s Army from partisan and political issues in the country.

Speaking on the sidelines of a ceremony held in honor of the nation’s best cadet baccalaureate laureates, June 2018 session, Major General, and responding to the MSP’s call for a so-called “political transition”, stressed that the ANP Army knows very well its constitutional duties.

“The National People’s Army is an Army that knows the limits of its constitutional missions and it is out of the question to involve it in partisan and political issues,” he underlined.

General Gaid Salah thus called not to involve the military institution in political and partisan logjams.

General Gaid Salah added:” The missions assigned to the National People’s Army are honorable missions of great importance, and we expect all political trends and civil society to give them their due value, to consider the laborious efforts made by the National People’s Army (ANP), worthy heir of the National Liberation Army (ALN), throughout the days and months of the year, and even during the nights”.

“The National People’s Army (ANP) is an Algerian People’s Army, an Army proud to belong to this worthy people, and of the great trust that the latter places in it, which it continues to demonstrate throughout the national territory”, he further stated in this respect.

“An Army whose course and conduct are respectful and whose spirit and performance are professional, which follows the guidelines of His Excellency the Moujahid, the President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defense Mr. Abdelaziz Bouteflika, and which ensures that it never deviates from the latter’s directives, the laws of the Republic or the professional and functional framework as defined by the country’s Constitution”, he added.

“The National People’s Army is an Army that draws on the November Revolution’s lofty values, whose conduct is based on solid principles, an Army that values hard and loyal work. An Army that will not allow any drift causing disorder, and will not allow disorder that could, be envisaged by some nefarious quarters intent on putting Algeria in danger, so as to achieve their malicious ends or to safeguard or to further their abject personal interests”, General Gaid Salah finally underscored.
