A court in Algiers Thursday sentenced retired General Hocine Benhadid’s son to 1 suspended year in prison and 50,000 DZ fine for possessing a fire gun with no licence.
Earlier on September 17th, a fire gun was found in the garden of the accused’s area. The garden guards informed security forces who found out that it belonged to General Benhadid. He was called in along with his son Nassim who admitted having taken it secretly.
Lawyers Khaled Bourai and Bachir Mechri said the case was politicized as the father had made statements to a foreign channel.
