General Union Of Algerians To Census Wealth Of 10.000 Algerian Businessmen Who Are Residing In Europe, America, Arab Countries

General Union of Algerians will launch a precise census of the number of Algerian businessmen who are abroad and it concerns those living in Europe, America, Canada and a number of Arab countries, the head of the General Union of Algerians in Said Ben Rokia, said in statement to Echorouk.
“Their number will exceed 10,000 businessmen, and we will be sitting at the table with them to discuss how to persuade them to invest in Algeria, and a detailed report on them will be deposited at the table of the Prime Minister, Ahmed Ouyahia”.
“General Union of Algerians is in the process of counting the number of Algerian businessmen and investors who are living abroad, after proving a large gap between the community and the various economic sectors inside the country and the various social strata. This gap extends at all levels including scientific and economic, counting more than 7 million Algerians abroad, a huge figure that should be exploited in order to serve the national economy”.
“It is possible to talk with businessmen who are residing abroad and to negotiate investment in all sectors in Algeria, and enriching the national economy”.
“We have a program in the Union and we are in the process of laying out its broad guidelines for the creation of an international committee of Algerian investors and businessmen abroad, and before that we will count the Algerian investors and qualifications, and we have a program at the table of the Prime Ministry to enable them to invest in all sectors.”
“We can talk with businessmen living abroad and negotiate investment in all sectors in Algeria. Algerian investors and competencies, and we have a program at the table of the first ministry to enable them to invest in all sectors.”
“We have to put our ideas on the Prime Minister’s Office, and this is part of our efforts to create an international committee for Algerian businessmen abroad, and this will enable us to know the scientific and economic capabilities of these investors and to sit at the table with them, each investor in his sector.”
In contrast, the spokesman called for improving the business climate in Algeria and the conditions of reception.
“A large number of Algerian businessmen want to enter the Algerian market, but they change their decision each time because of the problems of administration and bureaucracy”.
Concerning the weak percentage of annual transfers by the Algeria community abroad, which does not exceed two billion dollars, compared with the neighboring countries that pump billions of dollars, the spokesman confirmed that these immigrants are transferring large amounts through informal channels in light of the continued presence of the black market of currency conversion in Algeria, which deprives the treasury from receiving large transfers.
