Government Imposes New Procedures On Algerian Expatriates

New procedures are imposed by Algerian government on extirpates regarding the introduction of a cars for moving to homeland, where it will henceforth be prohibited to enter a car that exceeds one year after purchase, after customs services discovered the manipulations in the odometers of cars that were introduced to Algeria, the deputy of the Algrian community in the fourth region (Europe, except France and the Americas), Noureddine Belmeddah, said.

Belmeddah explained on his official Facebook page that was published as a warning to expatriates living abroad and those wishing to take their cars to homeland with the consular card in the framework of moving, to leave it in Algeria, that they be will benefit from exemption from customs duties.

“A new law that is issued by the Ministry of Industry and Mines, imposes that the car that is made in the same year (2018) can be finally introduced to Algeria”.

“This law was issued after it was found that there are several manipulations in the odometers of old cars which number of kilometers are reduced and are introduced to Algeria on the basis that they are new cars, but that are made since a year or two ago”.

According to the law on the movement there is the possibility of introducing a vehicle once a lifetime and exempt it from customs’ rights worth 20.000 euros by the consular card, according to a number of conditions, after it was once every five years, and now the financial value of the movement is 30.000 euros.
