Government declared a real start of the preparation for an “oil shock” which is on the door, after oil price reached $-60 per barrel in global markets, and this through the search for new financial resources in the context of seeking to minimize the impact of this emerging problem on the country.

In this regard, Fiance Ministry notified the Directorate General of Taxation for the need to start a forced collection of money for the outstanding taxes, at the level of top traders and private institutions and Contractors, according to the instruction that was addressed to the Directorate General of Taxation. A solution that government found ready to face the public treasury deficit at the moment.
This process began by reminding top dealers, who have tax debts, as the concerned were selected on the basis of the debts’ tax value, as in the first phase it was scheduled that the value of tax benefits that should be collected, must reach more than or equal to 50 million DZD, under penalty of lifting the file to justice, with what may result from criminal repercussions, that may reach up the repossessions or withdrawal of benefits from bank or postal accounts or postal after freezing them.
According to sources that are connected with this file, the response of dealers with the decision of the Directorate General of Taxation, encouraged them to expand the instruction to include dealers who have tax benefits equivalent of 10.00.000 DZD and above, as notifying dealers, institutions and contractors who have less tax debts from 100 million was delayed at the present time.
This decision confirms that the government started to think seriously in facing the crisis that will be incurred by the public treasury because of the decline in oil prices, which forms the backbone of the country’s incomes from hard currency, but this decision although it is a need, but it does not absolve the government from going into the others options that fall in the channel of liberalization of absolute dependence on hydrocarbon sector, a test in which all successive governments have failed.
