Hajj stampede: Algerian victims number rises to 33

Foreign ministry Thursday announced that the number of Algerian pilgrims victim of a stampede during the annual Hajj pilgrimage in Mecca reached 33.
The ministry said seven pilgrims are still under treatment in hospital in Mecca, Jeddah and Medina while 15 others are reported missing.
“The list of Algerian dead, injured and missing nationals is available at the foreign ministry’s crisis cell,” said the ministry in a release.
“The crisis cell is keeping up with the situation of Algerian pilgrims in the holy sites. It keeps touch with the delegation officials who are there and Algeria’s General Consul in Jeddah,” it added.
