Hassan Ouribi asked Gaid Saleh: “Algerians want more explanation about the terrorist attack that targeted 10 soldiers on the eve of Aid al-Fitr in Ain Defla”
Member of the National Defense Commission at the National People’s Council, the MP, Hassan Orabi, sent a written questioning to the Deputy Minister of National Defense, Major General, Ahmad Gaid Saleh, on Tuesday, requesting more explanations about the terrorist attack that targeted 10 soldiers from the armed forces in Ain Defla, on the eve of Eid al-Fitr.
Ourabi said that the armed forced leadership should provide explanations to the Algerians.
This is the first time through which the army received such a questioning, and the parliament has never sent questioning to the armed forces about operations that it led or suffered what makes this the first in the history of the relationship between the parliament and the military institution.
Orabi, who is a MP from the Justice and Development Front that is headed by Abdallah Djaballah, followed a pleasant way in addressing the army chief. Having expressed confidence in the army and gratitude for its performance, from the revolution to the black decade, and wrote to the Deputy Minister of National Defense: “We want you to explain the circumstances that led to the death of our children in this way? What are the measures that were taken in order to ensure the safety of our soldiers in various military points? What are the reasons that made of these terrorist operations disappear, to make us think that we regained our security and stability, then return to appear to hit here and there as if we were in front of a supernatural power.”
“We wonder about the presence of the intelligence coverage that protects the steps and the feet of our brave soldiers? And how they found themselves in a terrorist trap (he meant Ain Defla operation) so easily? And how does a simple process lead us to this disaster in the loss of our youth? Then where was the air coverage for our soldiers so as not to fall into the criminal trap? What leads us to wonder also if the terrorist attack was close to several military points that were able to intervene to save the situation, or at least intervene to arrest or kill the terrorists before they fled outside region?”
