Health: Chinese Doctors to treat Algerians in hospitals

A Chinese medical delegation of 76 specialist doctors in all fields are expected to come to Algeria in order to work in the Algerian hospitals applicant to an agreement between the Algerian government and its Chinese counterpart, aiming to develop cooperation in the field of health.

At the request of the Algerian government, Republic of China will send a Medical Mission to Algeria to work in the public health services, and according to the agreement’s text which was published in the latest number of the Official Gazette, under the format of Presidential Decree No. 14 _ 381, containing the ratification of the protocol agreement between Algeria and China, which provides for sending a Chinese medical mission to Algeria, and that was signed on May 2014, the number of Chinese doctors will reach up to 76 specialists that are distributors in the various disciplines of gynecology, obstetrics, anesthesia, acupuncture ophthalmology, general surgery, orthopedic surgery and burns, translators and cooks.
Agreement issued on the commitments that were presented by both sides, as the Chinese side is committed, according to the text of the decree, to ensure the quality of medical practices and necessary experiences by the Chinese Medical Mission and the Algerian party will choose candidates who meet the required qualifications for enrollment in the required posts.
Chinese doctors should provide a certified copy of university graduations, including French translation. For its part, the Algerian side pledged to pay the wages of members of the medical mission during the period of their presence in Algeria, in addition to providing cars for use, fuel, insurance, maintenance, and paying the fees for water, electricity and internet expenses, and providing furnished apartments that are equipped with all the necessary means, and providing  each Chinese mission in hospitals where they are working in equipped offices to ensure working conditions.
Agreement also identified a period of the mission members in Algeria by two years, from the date of their arrival in Algeria, and remains valid and renews automatically unless one of the parties shows desire to finish the work.
