Higher Education: A new project to upgrade University Professor, research and pedagogy

Higher Education Ministry discussed the reform path university professor and rehabilitation of the conduct of pedagogy and scientific research project, through a number of proposals regarding the promotion, graduations and management of structures, notably the abolition of qualification for the university professor “B” and the introduction of the rank of professor with categories “A”, “B” and “S”that is able to degrade, and to encourage the scientific research and production, rather than the acquisition of administrative positions.
Echorouk exclusively obtained a copy of the project that was proposed by the Higher Education and Scientific Research Ministry for reforming the university professor’s career, which relates to three areas, namely, graduations, ranks to conduct structures, pedagogy and scientific research, so that these reforms are primarily important for the research professors and PHD and master students, and affect the formation of students in graduation and post-graduation.
Ministry proposes to hire assistant professors “B” directly to holders of doctorate, and through the competition for the holders of master’s degree, with the possibility to include the LMD PHD holders in the second category, ie, that their employment would be through the competition like the masters, so that the ministry indicates the presence of 21.000 holders of a master’s degree who have not been hired yet.
The project also refers to the university professor ranking, so as they can move to the rank of Professor Assistant “A”, which is equivalent to a lecturer, after the third registration in PHD, and with the approval of the Scientific Council and proving the teaching for three consecutive years, as a pedagogical activity, as it takes at this level from one to three years, and can move after discussing automatically the doctoral thesis to the rank of professor “B”.
Professor assistant “B”, who has a doctorate, cannot upgrade to a lecturer “B”, but with the availability the condition of three consecutive years of teaching, then upgrade to the rank of lecturer “A”, as the project does not refer to the rehabilitation that is presently imposed, and which it says it is calculated on the pedagogical production, and prove four years of activity, and the evaluation of the Scientific Council to copy the lectures that are prepared by students or framing Masters notes.
Project introduced new ranks in the degree of Professor, which is professor “C”, which requires the rank of Lecturer “A” in addition to the rehabilitation of at least a year later, and the framing of the master’s notes and others, and to ensure that the teaching of lectures at bachelor within three years is not sequential necessarily.
