Housing Minister Tebboune faces a challenge to save Constantine “Capital of Arab Culture”

Housing Minister, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, ordered local authorities and companies in charge of achieving projects in Constantine (eastern Algeria), to work with the shift system to complete preparation for Constantine Capital of Arab Culture, in the scheduled deadlines, specifying March 25 as the deadline for the end of all the agreed projects.
Official sources which attended the closed-door meeting of the Minister of Local Group and companies which are in charge of accomplishment, told Echorouk, that the minister called upon officials to deliver the projects 20 days before the date of opening the event which is expected to be launched on April, 16, 2015.
Sources talked about the delay in ending the project because of what accompanied the achievement, such as bad weather and delays in the work pace, which requires action with the two-shift system to avoid any delay, as the Prime Minister, Abdelmalek Sellal will oversee the process of inaugurating all the projects.
For this matter, Five Star Hotels are created, the Airport Honorary Hall was reformatted to be delivered on March, 15, and 80% of housing projects were launched, despite the rocky nature of the province, that Echorouk sources said it exceeded some other provinces in the progress of works, including those where normal nature and better conditions, compared to the capital of suspended bridges (Constantine).
Minister Tebboune is expected to return to the city for the follow up of the progress of the works’ achievement after a month from now, at the time Works ended in “Zinet Hall”, which occupied an area of 43.000 square meters, and accommodate 3.000 places, after 16 months.
In this regard the minister insisted on the importance of raising awareness for the need to maintain these achievements after the end of the cultural event, through maintenance and follow-up.
