Interest-free loans for purchase or construction of dwellings and allowance for University teachers with no accommodation

The Council of higher education of teachers “C.N.A.S” decided at the close of a meeting with local Trade Union subsidiaries, to turn down a controversial draft executive decree pertaining to the status of professor researcher, by proposing the holding of a seminar to enrich the proposals inherent to this draft document.

Instead of rushing headlong, the protagonists are currently examining the ins and outs of the current situation before pressing for the review of pay and conditions for new housing distribution, in a bid to enable a large number of professors to benefit from an allowance as an  alternative to new housing, in addition to the democratization of the University Management to deter deviations and lapses.

These pending demands and proposals are expected to be raised by the social partners to the new Minister of higher education and scientific research Mr Tahar Hadjar at a forthcoming meeting.

The Union of professors of higher education, said in a press release of which “Echorouk” got a copy that it is imperative to hike the university teachers’ monthly salary as a matter dignity, through a revamping of the compensatory system, notably by increasing the amount of allowances for the benefit of teachers in a bid to offset their eroded purchasing power in addition to granting them new accommodation after the proper submission and processing of the various application files by the relevant authorities.
