Investigation begins with officials who manipulated the Grand Mosque budget and cultural monuments

Algiers Sidi M’hamed court’s judge ended the judicial investigations in the large scandal that is related to a set of violations and abuses, that were conducted illegally, and manipulation of the budgets that were allocated for the Great Mosque’s restoration, and the new mosque and the House of Culture in Ouad Koraiche, Darsouf, Betchine mosque in Kasbah, and the projects of the restoration of cultural monuments in Algiers.

Echorouk source that is familiar with the preliminary investigations that were initiated by Algiers judicial police services, following a complaint of 2009 regarding the several violations of officials in “S” company, who were involved in money embezzlement that was allocated for the implementation of the restoration of cultural monuments in Algiers, as the violation was overrun by the complaints mover who is called “Y.B”, as an employee who retired from the company that is located in the industrial zone of Constantine, and which content contains, according to file of the case,  money wasting operations.

Investigation with the suspects resulted in accusing 9 officials at the time, as most of them are from the company “S”, including the so-called “B.A”, as he is the first responsible for the project of renovating cultural monuments in Algiers, and the head of the Kasbah cell in charge of the restoration follow-up, a female engineer at the Kasbah cell, the provincial treasury female employee, a contractor and his sister, who face the charges of embezzlement of company funds and using them illegally, and abuse of position.
