The national Committee for the defense of human rights (LADDH) expressed its utter displeasure after noticing the marked decline in the exploitationand enhancement of farmlands in rural areas despite the enormous funds allocated to this effect by the State.

Indeed, no less than 1,000 billion centimes in Dinars have been committed to shoring up national agriculture since 2010.

LADDH also firmly denounced the shady legal actions carried out by some members of the France-based “Black Feet” community to retrieve their agricultural lands, forsaken or sold after they left Algeria way back in 1962.

LADDH wondered why after 52 years, the latter dare  come up with some old and forged documents  to retrieve their property, classified vacant- property and taken over rightfully by the Algerian State and nationalized in 1963, thus depriving Algerian  farmers who were allotted these farmlands  in management committees in the wake of the country’s independence.

In this connection, the Chlef regional office in western Algeria has recorded a contentious case between a local farmer and a former owner who wants to recover his property on all accounts.

Despite the remedial actions undertaken by the various services of the State to resolve this bitter dispute, the case is still pending in Court.
