Late President Mohamed Abdelaziz Terrifies Morocco Alive, Even After Death
Cemetery of Bir Lahlou in the liberated Sahraoui territories noticed the funeral of the Western Sahara President and Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Mohamed Abdelaziz, where he was laid to rest.
Funeral of the late President, Mohamed Abdelaziz, on Saturday, was solemn in the presence of members of the National Secretariat and the government, the National Council, the Advisory Council, foreign delegations, and a large gathering of various personalities of Western Sahara.
Following this great loss, the National Secretariat member, Mohamed Lamine Ahmed, delivered a commemoration speech, in which he mentioned the qualities and virtues of the late president, saying, “The martyr was the commander and the hero who gave his life to defend the fairness of the cause of his people”, adding that he left behind him a patient people that is able to continue the struggle until achieving the national independence.
Mohamed Lamine Ahmed asserted that the Western Sahara people will continue the path of the martyrs until realizing victory, considering the martyr, Mohamed Abdelaziz, the courageous leader who did not hesitate for one moment to participate in all platforms to defend the fairness of the Western Sahara cause.
Late President Mohamed Abdelaziz funeral began, on Saturday morning, in the liberated town of Bir Lahlou, in the presence of members of the National Secretariat and the government, People’s Liberation Armed Forces, foreign delegations and a large gathering of Saharawi citizens who live in the liberated lands.
His corpse was transferred aboard a military vehicle under the supervision of the Saharawi People’s Liberation Army, and all military commands of the Sahrawi Republic, as it arrived on Friday evening to the Saharawi refugee camps, to go to the martyr Hafiz where the official delegations said last goodbyes, before the start of the funeral in a march in the cities of Al Ouyoun, Awsard, Smara and Boujdour.
Moroccan occupation authorities closed all the roads and entrances that lead to the house of the family of the late Mohammed Abdel Aziz, due to the influx of thousands of Sahrawi comforters, and as reported by the Ministry of the occupied territory and Sahrawi communities Affairs, the occupying forces of Morocco imposed a tight siege on the house and all roads and entrances, and prevented the Sahrawi citizens from accessing it.
These forces also stormed the tent of receiving comforters, and confiscated it without warning and without regard for the safety of family members who were surprised by the intrusions, which did not respect the laws and the feelings of Sahrawi people, and even the religious norms.
In protest on this act, the family destroyed the security cordon and the suffocating siege that is imposed on the house, declaring – in a statement – its solidarity with all defenders and who truly care about the principles of human rights and that the late President gave his life to defend it, as the the family expressed warm condolences to all members of Saharawi people for their loss of the compassionate father and the Son of the nation, Mohamed Abdelaziz.
