Lawyer: security report shows innocence of suspects in Baccalaureate exam scandal

Lawyer Mohamed Bouchachi said a security report did not show any evidence against four suspects who have been jailed pending for investigation for three months. They are accused of being involved in the Baccaulreate 2016 leaking questions issue.

The lawyer said the suspects are just scapegoat and their accusation is meant to calm down public opinion and make the extraordinary session successful.

He added that the suspects are accused of revealing the secrets of a decisive exam such as the Baccalureate exam.

“This accusation is unfair. Those people have spent their whole life in the service of education,” he said.

He said his client is an education regional inspector. He asked for his release on August 3rd but he received a negative reply seven days later.

“The final security report was based on field investigations. It does not show any scientific evidence against the suspects. This shows that my client is innocent along with the three other persons,” he added.

“The suspects were jailed without any evidence. It hurts me that they are seen as betrayer,” he said.

“My client’s sons took the Baccalureate exam and did not pass it. How couldn’t he reveal the questions to his sons?” the lawyer wondered.
