Maj. Gen. Mena Nouba, commander of the national gendarmerie, gave, during a field inspection visit to Bechar (southern Algeria), on the sidelines of his supervision of the appointment of Colonel Ali Welhaj, regional leader of the third Regional Command of the National Gendarmerie in Bechar, strict instructions to make more efforts to ensure security and public tranquility in all the three provinces of the Third Regional Command of the Gendarmerie.Maj. Gen. confirmed the need to raise the level of performance in the field of continuous communication and to provide assistance to the population, who live in isolated areas, like nomads.“Operational security teams from various units of the national gendarmerie should be supported and strengthened and foreign and Algerian workers should be secured in order to contribute to the revitalization of economy and tourist movement in the region. Archaeological and tourist areas in the region and areas that are frequented by tourists should be secured as well, including Algerians and foreigners.” “More readiness for all units of the national gendarmerie should be performed, and maximum efforts should be made to maintain the security and safety of the national land borders, and the security of citizens as well,.”
