Major General Nouba: “Be vigilant so as to foil attempts aimed at destabilizing Algeria”

National Gendarmerie Commander-in Chief Major General, Menad Nouba, has drawn up a new security road-map for the eastern regions of the country with on focus the border regions in a bid to counter the cross-border criminal and terror networks which seek to deal a blow to Algeria’s security and stability.

Major General Menad Nouba who paid an inspection visit on Sunday to the eastern part of the country, stressed the need to focus more on the intelligence work and gave strict instructions to the various Gendarmerie units to be extremely vigilant and to enforce various preventive and precautionary measures in order to head off any nefarious activity aimed at undermining the security and stability of the country.

He also brought out the imperious the need for the Gendarmerie units to live up to their bounden responsibilities in duly protecting the country’s borders as part of a reinforced and more efficient security system in terms of control and immediate on the ground interventions, notably by focusing on the eastern regions bordering on neighbouring countries.

Major General Nouba further urged all Gendarmerie units to deploy for more efforts to ensure the safety of foreign workers engaged in different firms of the Southwestern   provinces by ensuring the safety of foreign tourists and Algerians alike so as “to contribute to the dynamics of the commercial movement and economic development of these regions.
