Prime Ministry Sunday announced that a man was arrested for impersonation of Prime Minister Abdelmadjid Teboune on Facebook.

“The person who opened a Facebook account in the name of Prime Minister Abdelmadjid Teboune was arrested by security forces. An investigation was opened to shed light on this issue,” said the Prime Ministry in a release.

“Following the publication of fake information on a fake Facebook account, the Prime Ministry informs all the written press and audio-visual media that Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebound does not have an account on social media,” it added.

Immediately after his nomination as Prime Minister, Teboune washed hands of a Facebook account which had posted statements in his name.

“The creation of a Facebook account for Abdelmadjid Teboune is not planned,” said the Prime Ministry.
