Manifold Promotions of Officers of ANP and National Gendarmerie

Over the course of the week, a large number of officers of the Ministry of National Defense were promoted to higher ranks including “brigadiers, lieutenant-colonels, colonels, generals” and other ranks, in the Navy, the Air Force, National Gendarmerie, Air Defense of the Territory and the Republican Guard, the Central Directorate of Hardware and the Central Directorate of the Secretariat as well as the Central Directorate of Reference, the Central Military Health Services and the Directorate of Military Industries.

Echorouk sources said that The Deputy Minister of National Defense, Chief of Staff of the National People’s Army, Lieutenant General Ahmed Gaid Salah, considered the promotions, which included a number of senior officers, as an incentive for the latter to continue working on the path of modernization, and development and to pursue with strength and enthusiasm the productive course of action at the service of the nation by guaranteeing its bright future.

In addition, 37 ANP officers have been promoted to the rank of brigadier generals and colonels, while the national gendarmerie has been reinforced with two new brigades. 

Brigadier General Pagho Larbi was  promoted to the rank of general and commander of the 4th regional command, while Colonel Lalmas Mustapha, was promoted to the rank of brigadier general in addition to Moughalet Tahar who becomes the Commander of the Fifth Regional Command of the National Gendarmerie in Constantine.

On the other hand, 54 advance officers were promoted to the rank of colonels. Lieutenant Colonel Mohamed Réda Kebaili who was promoted to head the regional department of the intervention units in Béchar, was previously the commander of the Chlef regional command group. 

The latter is one of the young Gendarmes who have important field experience in helping meet current security challenges.  

Furthermore, the head of the liaison cell of the National Gendarmerie, Lt. Col. Hajji Ghazali, was promoted to the rank of colonel. The latter succeeded in building bridges of communication and special relations with the national media family in a record time.

The commander of the regional group of Boumerdes, Lieutenant-Colonel Abdelkader Berahal, known for being strict in law enforcement, and who has achieved satisfactory results in the fight against crime in the entire territory of the province of Boumerdes, was also promoted to the rank of colonel. 

A similar rank was bestowed upon the regional group commander of the national gendarmerie of Tlemcen Lt. Col.  Abdelkader Boukhelda, in addition to the regional group commander of the national gendarmerie of Biskra province, Ghouar Belhoul who was also promoted to the rank of colonel.

In a related context, 182 national Gendarmerie officers were for their part promoted to the rank of lieutenant colonels. 

The young officers received their higher promotions after having benefited from intensive training sessions abroad and exactly in France for a whole year.
