Messahel to visit southern Libya

Algerian minister for Maghrebin, African Affairs and the Arab League Abdelkader Messahel will visit southern Libya on Saturday. This comes as he paid visits to the east and west seeking a consensus in the country.

The foreign ministry said in a release that Messahel’s visits is part of Algeria’s efforts for a rapprochement between Libyan protagonists in the crisis. A political solution to concretise reconciliation is sought.

Algiers is expected to hold a meeting with Tripoli’s neighbour countries on Monday to examine the crisis repercussions on the region

The ministry said Messahel will meet local authorities, notables and members of Parliament in the south of Libya

Earlier in April, the minister paid a visit to eastern and western cities such as Tripoli, Benghazi, Zentan and Mesrata. He met many political and military officials.
