Mihoubi questions Merzak Allouache about his participation in Israel Film Festival

Culture Minister, Ezzeddine Mihoubi, sends inquiries in the form of questioning the Algerian film-maker, Merzak Allouache, who introduced his last film “Madame Courage” at the International Film Festival in Haifa as a French film, Echorouk reliable sources said.

The same sources added that Mihoubi expressed his frustration of this participation, which was confirmed by the official website of the International Film Festival in Haifa, and wondered, about the position of the Algerian director, who received the support of the Algerian state for the production of “Madame Courage” and his reaction of the movie programming.

Large controversy that was raised by the news of Merzak Allouache participation that was not accompanied until writing these lines with any official feedback opposite of what happened with the movie “Oran” which is directed by Lyes Salem, despite the presence of the director and the film crew in Algeria, and even the cinematic family, from those who were contacted by Echorouk, and who only committed to neutrality, chanting “This is Allouache position alone.”

For his part, as quoted by some news websites- quoting the Algerian radio, Merzak Allouache denied participation in the Israeli festival, and refuted the news, considering his presence with the staff in Algeria.
