Judge of the preliminary hearing at the Court of Milan, Alessandra Clemente, surprised everyone, and published a file of 70 pages, in which she justified the acquittal of the former ENI’s CEO, Paolo Scaroni, of the charges against him in what is known as the scandal of bribes and international corruption Sonatrach-ENI- Saipem.

She confirmed, through the same report, that the meetings of Chakib Khelil with ENI and SAIPEM officials were an urgent need for contracts and the continuation of the two companies’ activities, but Scaroni is not guilty of any charge, and the absence of any evidence of the dominance of Scaroni at ENI on SAIPEM’s decisions.

Judge Alessandra Clemente’s report, who was stated in 70 pages, according to leaks to the Italian press, carried a violent attack on the investigating judges of the Milan Court, Fabio De Pasquale, Giordano Baggio and Isidoro Palma, regarding their accusations to Paolo Scaroni and his meeting with Chakib Khelil and Algerian officials, noting that the investigation at this point did not provide any evidence on Paolo Scaroni’s involvement with the Algerians.
