Any Algerian who does not have biometric passport will not be allowed to travel starting from 25 November as it is the deadline set by the Civil International Organization.

According to the Algerian interior minister, a total of 7 million biometric passports were delivered while around a million Algerians did not renew their classical ones.

International airliners received letters from the Civil International Organization about the set deadline.

Biometric passport will be the only valid document in travels as it is part of international conventions on crimes countering.

This comes as a number of countries such as France and Spain did not allow people who do not have a biometric passport to enter as from last August 26.

Algerian foreign minister Ramtane Lamamra protested against the French decision while authorities fixed 24 November 2015 as the expiry date of classic passports.

The interior ministry has been in ace with time for three years to deliver biometric documents in order to be ready for the international decision.
