Mohsen Belabbes: “Continued Closure Of Border Between Algeria And Morocco Is Unexplained”

It is regrettable to see our countries, after more than half a century of independence, turning their backs, or feeding the hostilities and deepening the differences between them”, Mouhsin Belbass, president of the Rally for Culture and Democracy (CDD), said in his speech in Tunis on the development and progress of North Africa.

“Closing the border between Algeria and Morocco is an example of this reckless behavior which can not be explained by any logical argument.”

“Our countries can flourish only in a democratic North Africa,” Belabbas said.

“Today, we want, and we can, and it is of our duty, to put in place one or more frameworks to achieve the aspiration of our peoples to meet and unite. This is very vital in a regional and international situation that may turn us back or cast our region in the midst of violence and brutality.”

“The road may be long, but we must open the debate on this horizon and expand it to include other political, social and civil forces, using their endeavor in the framework of tolerance and progress.”
