Morocco’s Foreign Minister Makes New Accusations Against Algeria

Morocco’s Foreign Minister, Nasser Bourita, returned to accuse Algeria again and addressed a number of accusations against it, claiming that it is an active party in the Western Sahara issue and the solution is in its hands, and that it is the reason for obstructing the construction of the Maghreb Union, and that the Algerian leaders “are ruling the country with the policy of the Cold War.”

These charges came in an interview of Nasser Bourita with France 24 in Mauritania, where he said that “the main actor for Morocco in this file is Algeria”.

“Everyone knows who is the party that embraces, finances and mobilizes the diplomatic mechanism in this file”.

“If you want a solution, this party should engage in the solution as much as it contributes to creating the problem.”

The Moroccan minister described his country’s relationship with Algeria today as “abnormal and inconsistent”.

One of the charges that Bourita made against Algeria is that it is a cause of weak trade between the two countries, and that it is the one that should bear responsibility instead of Morocco, considering that Algeria is the one which closed the border.
