A member of the National Popular Assembly or lower House of Parliament, hailing from the Justice and Development Front party, Hassan Aribi, has called on Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal, to raise monthly wages for the benefit of contract holders up to 30,000 dinars.

The deputy also urged the Premier to give these underprivileged contractual workers priority in employment as part of public service contests, particularly in the education sector.

This is, he explained, in response to the repeated requests from university graduates eagerly wanting to secure stable employment positions while advocating the granting to those persons of special needs of at least 10,000 Algerian dinars on a monthly basis as part of the social benefit scheme.

The pre-employment contract holders’ current monthly salary doesn’t exceed 15,000 dinars, he said.

MP Hassan Aribi also urged the Prime Minister to prompt his Government team to create lasting jobs and extend priority in employment after job competitions for all vacant posts, particularly in the education sector to these two categories of underpaid workers.
